For me, it was better than Barrons & Princeton Review... Jul 18, 2009
By E. Huang The reading in McGraw Hill's 12 SAT Practice Tests was really helpful since the answers give not only the reason why one was wrong, but also, the meanings of the vocabulary words in short concise synonyms for easy memorization. Ever wondered, what does that word mean in a reading question? McGraw Hill's 12 Sat Practice Tests explains it clearly! --something that other books don't offer.
I think this is a great book, in which a potential SAT student can reap great rewards! Good luck on the SAT's guys~

A Great Way to Prepare for the Ordeal that is the SAT Jun 01, 2009
By Donald Yuo This is a great book with very few if any typos. For anyone that is looking for practice before taking the actual test, this is the book to get. The answers are well designed, the explanations are clear, and its an economical buy. My only criticism is that the sat converter that comes with the book is too lenient. I'm relatively certain that one cannot get a perfect score on the writing section with more than 3 questions wrong.

Practice Heaven Jun 28, 2009
By Michelle Lam McGraw Hill is great for critical reading and writing. I did not notice any typos, and the 12 practice tests are enough for any ambitious teenager (I only completed 4). The font is different from the actual SAT, and that always bothered me.
However, I always thought the math was too easy or worded strangely. I preferred either Princeton Review or Barron's Math workbook to prepare for the math portion.
I believe that SAT preparation requires a cocktail of different prep books, so one can do sections according to current skill level.

Good book to study ,but too much typos with answer keys Dec 03, 2010
By seung ho cho I suggest you to not buy this because of so much typos with answers messed up with the explanations. If you already bought this book be sure to check practice test 2's section 3 with section 4's answer keys b/c they are fliped!!! It almost gave me a heart attack when I was checking the answers until 24 and then relized that the answer keys were flipped. So check the explanations too if you got things wrong.

High School Student taking the SAT Jul 08, 2011
By Dave I am a high school student who has taken/is still going to take the SATs. Like most students, my weakest subject is Critcal Reading, then writing. I'm telling you, there's no better book (other than the BB) for CR and writing. I find it to be slightly more challenging than the BB, but so what? Practice hard, ace the test right? Yeah i agree with the other reviewers that there are seldom incorrect explanations, but that's common in every book. In my opinion, I think the explanations themselves are really in-depth and understandable, which is what you would want in an SAT book. I can't say anything for the Math section, as I usually skip them (I just take practice sections, not tests with these), because I have done well on the Math. Plus, McGraw-Hill uses white (as in white like this page) paper, which is a nice contrast to Barron's or princeton review, which usually has a more yellowish-color to it, so McGraw-Hill is better on the eyes. If you're a student looking to improve CR and Writing, look no further; this is your answer (other than BB).
