I bought this as a gift for a 10 year old girl. I wanted a jewelry box that didn't have a ballerina as the rotating figure. The butterfly and music is very pretty. The actual storage in the jewelry box is smaller than I imagined, but I still thought it was age appropriate. The post of butterfly figure needed to be adjusted when it arrived because it was rubbing on the jewelry box, causing the figure to stop. I just need to realign it and it worked fine.

This was a special retirement gift for my daughter's first grade teacher. She was a very hands on teacher and when the class studied insects, my daughter and I supplied the monarch butterfly caterpillars and leaves, so this jewelry box was the perfect gift. Besides the twirling butterfly, it has lots of little secret drawers both front and back. The teacher loved it and I've bought a second one to give to my daughter for her birthday. I know when they play their music boxes and see the butterflies twirl, they'll think of each other for years to come.

I bought this for my 3-year-old for her birthday. She loves it - the little drawers are great for her little fingers, and seem just right as 'cubbies' for little treasures. She adores the monarch butterfly, and loves to fall asleep watching it turn and listening to the music. A great buy, especially for the price.

My granddaughter really loved the music box. It is very sturdy, however the secret boxes are quite easy to find. I didn't rate it high on educational value, because it is just about a pretty butterfly box that plays a lovely tune.

My 5 year old son loves to collect small things like crystals, rocks, polished stones etc. And he always gets upset/frustrated that he can't find where he puts his treasures. So, I was thinking it would be a good idea to get him a special box to put his treasures in and he will always be able to find them :) After seachering and finding that there isn't a lot of "Boy" music boxes, I've decided to get this butterfly one. For one, my son LOVES butterflies and its not pink,frilly with a ballarina inside! I like that it has all neutral colors.
And btw... my son LOVES IT! He calls it his treasure box and now he can always find his speacial trinkets. Will update with video or photos later :)
